Temerari, sortite fuori di questo loco!
Audacious ones, leave away from this place!

E non profani l?alito infausto degli infami detti
And do not profane (with) the unpropitious breath of infamous words

Nostro cor, nostro orecchio, e nostri affetti!
Our heart(s), our ear(s), and our affections!

Invan per voi, per gli altri invan
In vain for you, for the others in vain

Si cerca le nostre alme sedur:
If (they) seek to seduce our soul: 

l?intatta fede che per noi gia si diede ai cari amanti
The intact fidelity which we already pledged to the dear lovers

Saprem loro serbar infino a morte, 
We shall know how to preserve them until death,

A dispetto del mondo e della sorte.
In spite of the world and of its fate.
 
Come scoglio immoto resta
As (the) rock immovable remains

Contra i venti e la tempesta,
Against the winds and the storm,

Cosi ognor quest?alma e forte ella fede, e nell?amor. 
So always this soul is strong in faith and in love.

Con noi nacque quella face, che ci piace, e ci consola;
With us that torch was born, that pleases and consoles us;

E potra la morte sola, far che cangi affetto il cor.
And only death can change the affection of the heart.

Rispetate, anime ingrate, questo esempio di costanza, 
Respect, ungrateful souls, this example of constancy,

E una barbara speranza non vi renda audaci ancor.
And do not boldy render an uncivilized hope again.
