High School Junior at Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena, CA

Olivia Salazar (Classical Voice) 16, is a junior at Mayfield Senior School. She studies voice with Jeffrey Kim. Olivia is part of Mayfield’s award-winning choir conservatory. She was also a member of Colburn Concert Choir and performed with them at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Olivia was a semifinalist in the 2019 Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, Early Teen Voices Art Song, and a semifinalist in The Music Center Spotlight Voice Competition in Los Angeles in 2020. She has been involved in the performing arts for 4 years.

Outside of the performing arts, Olivia is also passionate about visual arts. She has had several art pieces exhibited at Our Lady of the Angeles Cathedral. Olivia is driven by strong curiosity and determined to use her talents to contribute to society as a singer and filmmaker. Olivia’s first memory of wanting to sing was when she would sing with her friends in the school playground and realized that singing makes her happy.

Participating in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition and The Music Center Spotlight has been very educational for Olivia. She has gained perspective on the community of singers she’s becoming a part of. She is inspired and invigorated by her fellow singers whom are equally determined to be the best. Performing in front of judges under pressured conditions has forced her to work harder and focus her skills so she can rise up and be best she can be. Olivia would like to thank her voice instructor Jeffrey Kim and her supportive family. This is Olivia’s second year participating in CS Music.
